Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw, has said that new boss, Erik ten Hag is working the team extremely hard, but insisted that that is exactly what the Red Devils deserve at this point.
The England defender hailed Ten Hag, describing him as a ‘top, top manager’, saying the team will have a clear structure to play in for the ‘first time in a while’ next season.
Ten Hag, who joined the Red Devils this summer, is currently taking the team through his style of football and hopes to return them to their former glory next season.
Manchester United will hope to compete for trophies again having missed out on every major trophy for five years now and Ten Hag has also hailed his current squad and fans are now hoping for the best as the new campaign approaches.
Their first test will be a preseason friendly encounter with Liverpool on Tuesday
And Shaw took a clear dig at his former bosses, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick by saying that United will now have a ‘structure’ of playing their football the way they never had for a while now.
“It’s clear that he’s a top, top manager. He has a structure to play the way he wants us to play,” Shaw told the press in Bangkok, Thailand, where United is scheduled to take on Liverpool on Tuesday.
“We haven’t had that for quite a while, and it was clear to see last season, which was extremely disappointing
“We have to bounce back [from last season] and he has been working us extremely hard, but I think we need it.”
Shaw said he was confident that the coming season will be much better than the last one as he cannot wait for the new campaign to begin.
