Former England international Trevor Sinclair has said that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United this summer over their failure to bring in top players.

According to the former Manchester City star, there is no reason for the Portuguese hero to stay at Old Trafford since it all looks like they won’t be fighting for titles next reason.

Sinclair, a talkSPORT’d pundit, acknowledged the fact Manchester United want the former Real Madrid star at the club for the coming season.

New boss, Erik Ten Hag had also made his intention of keeping the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner at Old but the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market is said to be a source of frustration for the Portugal captain.

“This squad is not going to get anywhere near the top four,” Sinclair said.

“Why would you want to be at Manchester United with the current squad they’ve got, fighting against top teams and getting beat left, right and centre?

“I don’t think Ronaldo wants another year like that, and I think he’s right to be agitated and putting a bit of pressure on Manchester United.”
